Giants of Africa, Ujiri Foundation

November 17th, 2013.

Made my presence over the weekend in Toronto as a Giants of Africa’s Alumni in support of the Giants of Africa & Ujiri Foundation, and also, an opportunity to introduce the HarryCares Project. In sharing some of my own experiences, I was able to show how basketball can be used as a tool for success. Through basketball and with the support of those who believed in me, I am able to stand where I am today. Basketball is more than just a game — it is a tool for success. Such a remarkable event!

This event encouraged the use of Basketball as a Tool in order to pave ways towards educating young people, and further build facilities that may benefit youth in Africa.

SMU Huskies Super Auction

March 20, 2013

HUSKIES SUPER AUCTION: Early this evening, I volunteered to be part of the 2013 Huskies Super Auction as a means to raise money for the Saint Mary’s University Athletic Program. It was a great event that feature families, friends, Alumni’s and fans of the university, and a great way of showing our appreciation as Student-Athletes of the University’s Program. -HarryCares

SMU Huskies and the Prospect Bulls

November 20th, 2012

On Tuesday November 20th Head Coach Jonah Taussig , Kadeem Scott, Riley Halpin and I mentored Mini and Bantam Boys at the Home of the Prospect Bulls. It was a great opportunity for us all; being able share our experiences both as players and coaches, and also learning from these kids who came to work hard this evening. I am thankful of the opportunity and also appreciative for the time the parents of those kids gave in order to ensure that their kids benefit from us all. CTV Halifax: AUS Video Shoot

October 11th, 2012

I visited the YMCA this morning in order to demonstrate some basketball fundamentals to a youth and it turned out good. Great Video shoot this morning with a youth at the YMCA centre in collaboration with CTV, Atlantic University Sports and the HarryCares project – I’m appreciative of the opportunity given to me and the ability to share my experiences #HarryCares — at YMCA.

September 8th, 2012

Visited the NBA 3x Arena in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and ran into some kids that I previously worked with in the past. Great feeling knowing that these kids have someone to look up to.

My teammates and I  came out to support and fundraise for Cystic Fibrosis. It was a great day grilling, BBQ and car wash. We also appreciate the support and donations we got from members of the community and we are glad that we reached out for a good cause.

Introduction to Basketball Basics: Armbrae Pre-School

Friday June 8, 2012

A visit to Armbrae Pre-School presentation with Head Coach of the Saint Mary’s Huskies Basketball to educate and demonstrate to pre-school students thee “Introduction to Basketball Basics.” A fun morning with the kids and you learn how appreciative these kids are  — especially when they have someone to look up to. They learn so quickly!

Its never too early to introduce the game of basketball to our youth. Sports, physical activity, and play all have a positive impact on kids. The game of basketball is more than just a game: it’s physically, mentally, and emotionally rewarding. Every child deserves the opportunity to experience play, to be a kid, and to learn and grow through sport.

It feels great to share my passion with kids. They get to have fun and build on lessons learned in school — like team-work and fair play.”   -Harry Ezenibe
